Yezekile Mtyombeni started the business with his wife in 2007 in their home. He became more passionate about the craft than his educated and qualified counterpart. He uses clay that he picks from the mountains and through the help of the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Sinethemba Maletswai Crafters, was funded a kiln, pottery wheel and slab by their local municipality to boost the business. Matyobeni has sold works in many festivals such as Macufe and the National Arts Festival in Makanda. He specialises in traditional vase making as well as sculpture for was a way of bringing income and assisting his family.
