Kwaai is in its third instalment as an annual exhibition. It sets out to provide a platform on which 'Coloured'/ POC artists and those who identify as such can exhibit together in a considered space. It also serves as a celebratory exhibition of the multifaceted Coloured identity. Taking Kwaai and all it embodies into the community makes the exhibition more accessible. Workshops were planned for this instalment , but because of Covid-19, the exhibition has moved completely online. It provides space for artists to express and explore something one is often confronted with in Cape Town, a place that is so rich in Coloured culture and heritage yet where generational history is often unknown. It also comments on the link between identity and race. Participating artists are Robyn Pretorius, Jabu Nadia Newman, Dion Cupido, Ulriche Jantjes, Urban Khoi Soldier, Faatimah Mohamed Luke, Jared Leite, Scott Eric Williams, Danielle Alexander, Kelly Johnson, Sara Jardine, Gary Firer and Al Luke.
