Essential oils are extracts from plants that have a wide range of uses. Tea tree essential oil has anti-fungal, antiviral, antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties and is used as a topical treatment, in cosmetics as well as household detergents. ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Marsha Kalika is the Chief Education Officer for Outreach at the KZN Museum in KwaZulu Natal. She holds a BSc degree from Rhodes University majoring in Environmental Science and a Geography and a BSc Honours Degree in Environmental Management from UNISA. Her passion lies in science engagement, promoting science communication and uplifting learner and community based education.
