The human eye can only see visible light, but light comes in many other “colors”—radio, infrared, ultraviolet, X-ray, and gamma-ray, which are all part of the so called electromagnetic spectrum. Join us to find out how we are able to “see” the rest of the electromagnetic spectrum.
The participants will be exposed to demonstrations on how to detect the various electromagnetic waves. While the majority will be demonstrations, there are some hands on activities as well.
The participants will learn about the various electromagnetic waves and why they are different.
What the participants will need:
• A CD or DVD
• A light source, e.g. room light, flashlight, sun
• A TV remote control
• A webcam, or cell phone camera
