Can you really launch marshmallows out of a vacuum cleaner, make rockets from common household items, or run an engine on liquid nitrogen? Prepare yourself for some seriously mind-bending science, as Dr Graham explodes his way through the chemistry and physics of things that go bubble, boom, bang and occasionally catch on fire. With loads of audience involvement, laughs, exciting experiments, brain-rattling explosions, and learning, this action-packed show is a celebration of the fun in science!
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Dr Graham Walker Graham convenes the Masters of Science Communication Outreach program at the Australian National University. His current research and engagement investigates international capacity building and co-design in science communication. To this end, Graham founded the Australian Government supported Science Circus Africa project which has trained 499 staff and reached 73,000 people in 10 African countries. Graham also researches emotional and motivational aspects of science communication, particularly in settings like science centres, science shows and hands-on workshops, and using these methods to engage with social and environmental issues, along with teaching in these areas. He is an avid aficionado of science shows, and has performed shows and delivered training globally. He very much misses Scifest Africa and can’t find a good Vuvuzela anywhere in Australia.
